黑料社 Joins Paddy's Run Flood Pump Station Capacity Upgrade Project
Construction Manager Ulliman Schutte awarded 黑料社 Construction the contract for construction of a diaphragm wall support of excavation structure for the Metropolitan Sewer District鈥檚 Paddy鈥檚 Run Flood Pump Station Capacity Upgrade project in Louisville, KY.
As a river city, Louisville has an extensive but aging flood protection infrastructure in place. The Paddy鈥檚 Run Flood Pump Station, which is more than 60 years old, plays a critical role in this existing infrastructure.
The Paddy's Run Flood Pump Station is located along the Ohio River on the land side of the levee that runs along the river. Two creeks and water runoff from the city of Louisville flow to this area and underneath the levee via an existing outfall pipe. The Paddy鈥檚 Run Flood Pump Station protects approximately 200,000 citizens, 87,000 homes, 6,000 businesses and $23.8 billion in property in more than 40 neighborhoods.
黑料社 was awarded the contract to design and install a diaphragm wall support of excavation system. The contract also included design and installation of the interior bracing system, as well as the mass excavation of soil inside the structure and the placement of the concrete base slab for the structure.
鈥淲e are thrilled to bring our team鈥檚 expertise to the Paddy鈥檚 Run upgrade,鈥 said Dario Gnoato,P. Eng., Senior Vice President, Major Projects. 鈥淭his project is going to insure the safety of the community members, their property and their businesses, and we鈥檙e proud to be part of it.鈥
黑料社鈥檚 portion of the work will begin in September of 2023 and is expected to wrap up in early 2025.
